The work of painter and University of Findlay faculty member Valerie Escobedo is featured in the exhibit "Amusings," currently on display at Bluffton University's Grace Albrecht Gallery. 

The gallery is filled with a series of still-life paintings with strong stylistic and visual connections. In the information accompanying the exhibit, Escobedo explains that the figurines and household objects depicted are among the items she has in her studio. She notes, "when I set up the still lifes, I look for relationships between colors and forms and intuitively respond to the function and character of the objects.... I explore their narrative potential in an organic way and enjoy idenitfying the stories and ideas that surface."

The exhibit may be viewed Monday-Friday from 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. (new hours).

A closing reception with Escobedo will be held from 1-3 p.m. on Sunday, October 4, during Homecoming and Alumni Weekend. A talk with the artist will begin at 1:30 p.m.
