Services on Monday, August 31 at 12:00 p.m. at Ebenezer Church

Nancy Ann Wheeler Andrews, 74, passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones in the early hours of August 28, 2026, at St. Rita’s Medical Center.

Born March 4, 1952, in Lima, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Bettye Wheeler. Nancy attended Bluffton High School, where she graduated in 1970. After high school, she graduated from Airline Stewardess School in Minnesota.

Nancy was a member of Beaverdam United Methodist Church as a child. She later belonged to New Hampshire United Methodist Church in New Hampshire, Ohio, where she chose to be re-baptized later in life as a reflection of the faith and devotion she found in God.

As an adult, Nancy worked for 30 years as a teller, loan officer, and then branch manager at First Federal Savings and Loan. After that, Nancy worked at the Lima YWCA, Lowe’s Home Improvement Store and also enjoyed babysitting for family and friends.

Nancy had a loving personality and was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She enjoyed spending time with her extended family and cousins, and hosting her friends and family, especially her grandkids. With a love for cooking and baking, she could be counted on to show up with her famous macaroni salad or Texas sheet cake for any occasion.

Taking great pride in looking her best, Nancy never left the house without her hair or makeup done, dressed to a T. She made sure her nails were always painted, even if that meant painting them while driving her car… shh, don’t tell.

With a love for the sunshine and the simple things in life, Nancy found happiness while taking care of her flowers, her yard, her cats, and decorating her house, especially around the holidays. She enjoyed spending time at the beach, the lake, or at the pool, and took any opportunity to vacation at Williams Lake in Michigan. One of her greatest loves in life was shopping, and you could often find Nancy browsing for a good deal in the clearance section at Kohl’s in Lima.

“Fancy Nancy” was a nickname coined at Burton’s Ridge Assisted Living Memory Care Unit, where she spent her last four years. You could often find her looking towards the sky to cloud-gaze, picking out shapes and animals. And to no one’s surprise, she made many friends during her time there.

The family extends their deepest and most heartfelt gratitude to Mercy Health Hospice for the extraordinary compassion, kindness, and support they provided to Nancy and her family during her final days.

In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her brother, James Wheeler, and her grandparents, Herbert and Erma Herron and Hazel Wheeler.

Nancy leaves behind a lifetime of memories, a family who adored her, and love that will continue long after her passing. Her family was her greatest treasure.

She will be lovingly remembered by her three children, Ben Andrews (Denise Bowers) of New Hampshire, OH, Courtney Turner (Jamey) of Waynesfield, OH, and Josh Andrews (Leslie), of St. Mary’s, OH. 

Nancy’s life will be cherished in the lives of her grandchildren Alexandra Andrews of Columbus, OH, Stephen Andrews, Taryn Tate, and Jayce Turner of Waynesfield, OH, and Corbin Dammeyer of St. Mary’s, OH, her sister Sue (Ron) Epp of Bluffton, OH, her sister-in-law, Susan Wheeler of Chesterfield, MI, and her nieces and nephews Bryan (Jean) Andrews, Ryan (Megan) Andrews, Amy (Joe) Vance, Melissa (Kevin) Hilty, Heidi (Joshua) Steiner, Jessica (Chris) Most, and Jenna (Joe) St. John.

Her enthusiasm as Aunt Nancy THE Great will live on with her great-nieces and nephews Branson Hilty, Wilson, Abram, and Annie Steiner, Peyton Andrews, and Landon, Liam, and Scarlett St. John.

Nancy will be remembered as a great friend by many, especially Diane Seeling, Marlene Yant, Pat Bassett, and Rose Harvey.

Services will be held Monday, August 31, 2026, at 12:00 pm at Ebenezer Church. Pastor David Glick to officiate the service. Burial will be in Ebenezer Mennonite Cemetery following the service. Visitation will be Monday, August 31, 2026, 10:00 am - 12:00 PM at the church.
