Julie C. (Field) Amstutz worked for Putnam County ESC
Julie C. (Field) Amstutz, 73, passed away on September 12, 2026, at her home.
Julie was born February 7, 1953, in Lima, to Clyde and Bess (Cunningham) Field who preceded her in death. On May 25, 1992, she married Daryl Amstutz who preceded her in death on February 4, 2026.
She was a 1971 graduate of Columbus Grove High School. She graduated with her bachelor's degree in 1975 from Bowling Green State University, majoring in Education, Speech and Hearing Pathology. She went on to receive her master's degree in 1982 from Wright State University, majoring in Student Personal Services – School Psychology.
She worked for Mercer County ESC until 1997 when she started her career at Putnam County ESC. Julie was a member of the Northwest Ohio School Psychologist Association and the Ohio School Psychologist Association. During her 25 years at Putnam County, Julie provided School Psychologists services and support to several thousand students, family members, and educators. Julie participated in numerous local school committees and services, including the Putnam County ESC Pupil Personnel Committee and the ESC Crisis Response Team. Julie was also an Element Coordinator for the Putnam County Safe Schools and Healthy Students Grant Initiative.
Julie attended Pandora Missionary Church and represented Riley Township on the Putnam County Republican Central Committee. For over 50 years, Julie charted horse races around county fairs. In addition, she enjoyed gardening, flowers, bird watching, and caring for others.
Survivors include her four children, Tammy (Chuck) Niese of Pandora, Tim Amstutz of Pandora, Theresa (Mike) Manning of Ogden, Utah, and Tara (Freaks Guerra) Amstutz of Pandora; seven grandchildren, Derek (Ashley) Niese, Zach (Emily) Niese, Alyssa (Jay) Schnipke, Luke and Olivia Manning, Connor and Keira Amstutz; nine great-grandchildren; two sisters, Rebecca Field of Ottawa and Jennifer (Jeffrey) Brachok of Lima; a niece, Ashley Rebecca (Shane) Heinze; and a nephew, Austin (Madeline) Field Brachok.
She was preceded in death by a son, Randall Amstutz.
Services will be held on Friday, September 18, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services - Bluffton with Pastor Matt Steiner to officiate the service. Burial will be in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery following the service. Visitation will be Friday, September 18, 2026, 9:00-11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
