BLUFFTON__The Bluffton High School girls tennis team won two home matches on consecutive nights Monday and Tuesday, Sept. 21-22.

The victories improved the Pirates' record to 8-5 with two matches remaining before the sectional tournament.

On Monday, Bluffton earned a big 4-1 win over Bath to celebrate Senior Night in style.

Senior Willow Angel won easily at second singles 6-0, 6-1.

Senior Bekah Rehm captured her third singles match 6-3, 6-1.

Seniors Ari Bowling and Kate Klinger teamed up for a victory at first doubles 6-2, 6-3.

Peighton Bowers and Leah Hoffman cruised to victory at second doubles 6-1, 6-0.

Hope Luginbill played exceptionally well at first singles against Wildcat ace Gianna Margo despite a 6-4, 7-5 loss.

On Tuesday in a makeup bout vs. Elida, Bluffton won another close match by a 3-2 count over the Bulldog girls.

Freshman Hope Luginbill and senior Willow Angel dropped hard-fought matches at first and second singles, respectively.

Klinger and Bowling won decisively at first doubles 6-2, 6-1. Junior Bowers and sophomore Hoffman blanked their second doubles opposition 6-0, 6-0. Rehm won at third singles.

Bluffton plays on Saturday, Sept. 26 at Bryan. The Pirates then host Kenton Sept. 28 in the regular season finale.
