Bluffton's annual Relay for Life,  Friday and Saturday, June 21-22, at Saltzman Stadum at Bluffton University, is a real family-oriented event.

BFR announced that a new group fitness class has been added to the schedule for Thursday mornings, according to Carole Enneking, BFR director.

Local resident and experienced fitness instructor Kelly Prichard will lead the class. The class format will fit the Aerobics & More title of the Monday and Wednesday classes led by Sue Sheehan (Mondays) and Kelly Martz (Wednesday). 

First time attendees may participate in the Thursday morning class for free. The BFR Any Class Card or Single Visit fee: $5/$3 will be required by repeat attendees. 

Premiering on Friday, June 21 and running through Tuesday, July 2 will be Monster's University (G).

Show times are every evening at 7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.

Saturday and Sunday matinees at 1:30 p.m. and 4 p.m.

Premiering on Wednesday, July 3 will be Despicable Me 2.

Shirley's Gourmet Popcorn flavor of the month for June is Birthday Cake.

Trinity Lutheran Church, Jenera, will hold a homemade pie auction at Bluffton’s Relay for Life on Friday, June 21. 

The auction will begin at 7:45 p.m. under Salzman Stadium. Twenty-five homemade pies will be available to the highest bidders with all proceeds going to the American Cancer Society. 

A variety of kinds of pies will be available. If you purchase one that needs refrigeration while you take part in the other activities, members of the Trinity team will provide that until you are ready to leave the Relay. 

On Tuesday and Wednesday, June 25-26 from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. the Johnny Appleseed Metropolitan Park District will offer, Pioneer Skills Day Camp at the Allen County Farm Park.

Youth ages 10-14 will enjoy learning about life on the farm in the mid-1800s. Cook lunch on a coal burning cook stove, milk a goat, hitch up a team of horses to cultivate the vegetable garden, cut firewood with a bucksaw, and make homemade ice cream.

The Allen County Farm Park is located east of Lima in Bath Township, at the corner of State Route 81 (Ada Road) and Slabtown Road.

Swiss Day, an event planned by the Swiss Community Historical Society, includes a potluck and program on Sunday, June 30, at Ebenezer Mennonite Church.

The potluck is at 1 p.m. Persons attending are invited to bring ready-to-eat food and their own table service.
