The holiday season is sliding to an end and things will get back to normal any minute now. But until then, you can embrace one last tradition, one last thing to bind us to each other as we look ahead to the new year.
How about we drop something?
The most famous drop in the United States is the dropping of the New Year's ball in Times Square, New York City. Thousands gather to watch the ball make its one-minute descent, arriving exactly at midnight.
Here's a great way to start 2012: There is still time to register for the high school tennis camp to be held at BFR on Jan 2, 3 and 4.
The camp is designed for high school age players with little or no formal instruction. Players will work on the basic strokes and serves plus learn about court positions. Call BFR 419-358-4150 to reserve a space for the 1:30 p.m. or 3 p.m. group.
Cost per player is $60 ($45 BFR member); scholarships for those with financial need are available.
BFR will offer another 12-week session of the Fit 4 Life program beginning the week of Jan. 7. The Fit 4 Life fitness program will assist individuals in meeting individual weight loss and exercise goals.
Over 100 individuals have taken advantage of the Fit 4 Life program so far. Feedback has been very positive including reported improvements in cholesterol and blood pressure levels, energy and endurance, plus pounds and inches lost. Fit 4 Life participants report feeling more comfortable in the exercise environment and more confident in their exercise abilities.
