The Friends of the Library invite persons to spend an evening with Jane Austen and enjoy a tea that will include a light meal. Austen, author of "Pride and Prejudice," "Sense and Sensibility and other novels, is coming to the Richland Room in the Bluffton Library at 5:45 p.m., April 29. Christie Weininger Raber, director of the Wood County Historical Center and Museum, will portray Jane.
AARP will offer a Driver Safety Program at the Bluffton Senior Center from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Tuesday, March 23, according to Tonya Meyer.
The program is the first and most recognized comprehensive nationwide course designed for older drivers. The course material is based on information gained through research to determine what is needed by this age group to update driver knowledge and skills.
Southgate Lanes, Bluffton, is hosting a Bluffton Hospital Auxiliary "Colorama Bowling Fun Night" fundraiser on Friday and Saturday, March 19-20, according to John Dailey.
All proceeds go to the Bluffton Hospital expansion project.
The event offers countless door prizes plus several cash prizes ranging from $5, $10, $25, $30, $35, $40, $45 and several major prizes from area businesses.
The Fort Findlay Stamp and Postcard Club marks its 56th year with their annual show, Finpex 2010. The theme of this year's show is the 150th Anniversary of the Founding of Maple Grove Cemetery in Findlay, according to Scott Little of Bluffton, member of the club.
Blanchard Valley Health System to Host Annual Meeting
Blanchard Valley Health System will host its annual Boards of Trustees meeting on Thursday, March 25 at 5:30 p.m. in the Marathon Oil Auditorium at Blanchard Valley Hospital.
The Boards of Trustees will approve their 2009 annual meeting minutes and review nominations for incoming board members.
In addition, BVHS will present information on awards and honors received in 2009, patient testimonials and upcoming news for 2010.
