Bluffton hosted Crestview Monday for the Lady Pirates' Senior Night.  The home team came away with the win 12-0, with goals by Senior Captain Abbie Parkins (3), Senior Katie Burkholder, Senior Sarah Theisen, Freshman Kayla White (2), Junior Kelli Leugers, Freshman Brinkley Garmatter (2), Senior Captain Sydney Staton, and Senior Jayme Siefer (on a penalty kick).

The Lady Pirates improve their record to 10-4-1 overall, and 5-0 in the Northwest Conference.

Luke Young's goal enough to stop Kalida

On a perfect soccer evening Kalida hosted Bluffton for a non-conference boys' high schoolsocc er match. The Pirates recorded their 10th shut-out of the season, beating the Wildcats 1-0.
 
Luke Young had the sole score of the game, poking the ball in the net at the 25th  minute, after a long build-up by the Pirates.
 
On the evening Bluffton took 10 shots on goal hitting the bar or the post three times. Kalida had two shots on goal.
 
Brayden Recker, the Wildcat keeper had four saves; the Pirates goalie, Levi Smith had two saves.

It was easy to note Friday evening that Spencerville had the size advantage over Bluffton, especially along the lines.  But what became quickly apparent in the game’s first few plays is the Bearcats have an abundance of quickness as well.  Spencerville raced up and down the field through three quarters blowing out Bluffton 42-14.  SHS improved to 6-1 with the win, Bluffton fell to 3-4 with their third straight loss.

On Saturday, Oct. 8, the Shawnee Indians hosted the Bluffton Pirates for a non-conference high school boys' soccer match in almost perfect weather conditions.

Bluffton came away with the win, 1-0.
 
Bluffton had 6 shots on goal versus 3 for the Indians. In the 56th minute Isaiah Schwab took a pass from Josh Begg and buried it in the net.
 
Keeper for Bluffton, Levi Smith, had three saves; the Shawnee goal keeper had 4 saves.
 
In the JV game Bluffton prevailed, 1-0.
 

And Sarah Theisen has second-in-row 3-goal game

The Bluffton Lady Pirates girls' soccer team tallied another victory against local rival Cory-Rawson at Steinmetz Field on Thursday evening wiith Senior Sarah Theisen racking up another 3 goals to win 3-0.

The first goal came 7:30 into the first half when freshman Kayla White passed to Theisen who landed goal 1. 

Then, 10 minutes later, the same duo scored goal 2 making it 2-0 at the half.  With 17:45 left in the game Senior Captain Abbie Parkins passed to Theisen who pulled way out in front, pulling the goalie out of the box, and Theisen sent the ball right past her. 

Division III northwestern Ohio coaches' poll; and BHS beats Bearcats 4-0

Bluffton High School boys' soccer team kept its third-place ranking in this week's northwestern Ohio Division III soccer coaches poll.

First is Archbold and second is Lake. Bluffton follows in third, ahead of Eastwood.
