The opening line from the Denver Post feature reads: "It would take a major catastrophe for Broncos rookie Zac Dysert to play in Super Bowl XLVIII against the Seattle Seahawks next Sunday."

You know it, and he knows it.

But that doesn't mean the 23-year-old quarterback from Miami (Ohio) hasn't enjoyed every moment of his ride to MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J. Sure, he didn't take a snap during the regular season, and even his preseason playing time was sparse — 12-of-23 passing for 179 yards and one touchdown.

Nathan Cheney rolled his first ever 300 game Thursday , Jan. 23. He has been close many times, having the first 9 or 10 strikes on multiple occasions. Cheney turned 21 a few weeks ago and now has managed to topple the 300 barrier, according to Derek Dukes of Southgate Lanes, Blufton.

Bluffton High School boys' basketball team throttled Allen East on Friday night in an NWC contest. Bluffton won 74-49.

Bluffton girls' basketball with Leipsic has been postponed to Monday Jan. 27, and Bluffton boys' basketball with Van Buren has been postponed to Tuesday, Jan. 28, according to Alex Hanna, BHS athletic director.

Bluffton Diamond Sports announces its spring and summer baseball and softball sign-ups, according to Erinn Prater.

Dates are:
• Thursday, Feb. 6, from 6- 8 p.m. – Bluffton HS gym entrance
• Friday, Feb. 14, from 6- 8 p.m. – Bluffton HS gym entrance
• Saturday, Feb. 15, from 9 a.m. to noon – Blluffton HS gym entrance
