The Pandora-Gilboa boys basketball team made a huge statement Saturday night taking control of the Putnam County League standings with a convincing 63-40 win over rival Ottoville (2-1 PCL, 9-3).  A trio of Rockets reached double digit scoring and the win keeps the Rockets undefeated on the season at 12-0.

NEW BREMEN__The Bluffton High School boys and girls swim teams each finished a strong fourth at the 16-team Celina Invitational held in the New Bremen YMCA Saturday, January 13.

Ottawa-Glandorf swept both the boys and girls team titles.

PAULDING__The Bluffton High School girls basketball team fell behind early and lost 46-33 at former Northwest Conference foe Paulding Saturday afternoon.

The Pirates dropped to 5-7 with the defeat, while the Panthers improved to 5-5 after the double-digit win. 

It was the second straight game the Pirates could only muster 33 points in a loss.

Paulding led 11-6 after the first period, and extended their lead slightly to 21-15 at halftime. Bluffton stayed within striking distance, down 29-21 heading to the final stanza.

CONVOY__The Bluffton High School boys basketball team rallied from a big early deficit to pull off a crucial 53-52 comeback win at Crestview in a Northwest Conference barnburner Friday night, January 12.

Wade Ginther scored the game-winning basket with just 2.8 seconds left to lift the Pirates to a one-point road victory. The win kept the Pirates tied atop the league standings with Spencerville.

The victory was also Bluffton’s seventh in a row since a 45-40 loss to Ottawa-Glandorf on December 8.

BLUFFTON__The Bluffton High School girls basketball team lost 65-33 to visiting Northwest Conference leader Crestview Thursday evening, January 11.

Knights ace Cali Gregory scored 22 points to pace the victors.

The Pirates dropped to 5-6 overall and 1-2 in NWC action with the loss.

On Monday, January 8, the Pandora-Gilboa High School boy’s basketball team picked up a huge Putnam County League win on the road, defeating the Miller City Wildcats 52-40 (7-3, 1-1 PCL).  The Rockets remain undefeated at 10-0.
