Bluffton University

 

Two groups of Bluffton University students will relate their cross-cultural experiences from last spring during campus forums at 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. Sept. 25 in Founders Hall. The presentations are free and open to the public.

Recounting their experiences at the 11 a.m. session will be Estee Arend and Kyle Niermann, who were among a Bluffton contingent that went to Chicago; Rachel Dotson and Melissa Hostetler, discussing Guatemala; Jared Hudson, Brianna Shaw and Leah Waltermyer, Israel/Palestine; and Jared Horstman and Marla Stone, Kentucky.

 

The results of a grant-funded fishing project at the Bluffton University Nature Preserve will be Tami Forbes’ topic for “The One That Got Away,” a Bluffton colloquium on Friday, Sept. 21.

Free and open to the public, the presentation by the associate professor of recreation will begin at 4 p.m. in Stutzman Lecture Hall in Bluffton’s Centennial Hall.

The St. Francis women's soccer team fell behind just over 10 minutes into the match, but the Cougars responded with three unanswered goals for their third straight victory on Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2012. Bluffton dropped to 1-3 on the season, while USF improved to 4-3.

The Bluffton University volleyball team came up just short in a non-conference battle with regional-power Thomas More on Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2012. The Beavers (4-4) fell in three highly-contested sets, 25-23, 25-21, 26-24.

 

Bluffton University has risen in the U.S. News & World Report rankings of the top tier of “regional colleges” in the Midwest.

The 2013 edition of the magazine’s Best Colleges guidebook ranks Bluffton 21st among 99 comparable Midwestern institutions in the “Best Regional Colleges” listing, up from 25th last year. Now listed in the U.S. News rankings for 15 consecutive years, Bluffton has consistently been ranked in the top quarter of Midwest colleges.
