Amy Warren presents senior voice and piano recital Nov. 29

Amy Warren will present a senior voice and piano recital at the Bluffton Middle School at 2:30 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 29. Krysti Schey is here accompanist.

The recital includes works by Bach, Mozart, Purcell and Chopin among others.

Amy has participated in many instrumental groups, including Bluffton High School’s concert band, marching band, pep band, and jazz band, where she played the flute, piccolo, keyboard, and piano.

She was the band’s field commander her junior and senior years. She was awarded second place at ONU’s Summer Camp Composer’s Contest in 2014, where the string piece she wrote, “Variations on a Dream,” was performed.

Amy’s choral participation has included concert choir, chamber choir, show choir, and District III Honors Choir. She has also sung in Bluffton Choral Society’s Handel’s “Messiah.” She is a soprano and takes vocal lessons from Dr. Mark Suderman.

Amy began playing her most recent instrument, the piano, just a little over three years ago, and takes lessons from Rebekah Ricker at Krysti’s Music Studio in Bluffton, where she is also employed as a teacher to beginner piano students.

Amy plans to major in Music Education in college. She has been awarded an Academic Honors with Distinction scholarship at Bluffton University, where she plans to attend next fall.
