The Blaze can't go on without the team of John and Junior

Saturday is "Junior Weihrauch Day in Bluffton." The Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce announced the designation at its Nov. 13 breakfast meeting

Watch for these two guy in Bluffton on Saturday.

On the left is John George. On the right is Junior Weihrauch. The Bluffton Blaze of Lights could not happen with them.

John George, as the town crier, has served as Blaze master of ceremonies each year since 1995. You'll find him on the review stand announcing the parade units.

He'll also interview the switch hitter, Paul Dyck. And, he will read the Christmas story from Luke. Then he'll start the 30-second countdown to turn on the Ream folk art holiday display on the Bluffton Presbyterian Church lawn.

Junior Weihrauch is the Blaze parade director. From Arlington, Weihrauch has directed Blaze parades since 2009. The year before he started, the Blaze parade had 40 units.

For the past two parades, 100-plus units have entertained parade-goers. Those 100-unit parades translate to 60 minutes of parade time, making the Blaze parade one of the largest small-town parades of any kind in northern Ohio.

The Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce has designated Saturday, Nov. 28, 2015, at Junior Weihrauch Day in Bluffton, in appreciation for all the volunteer work he has contributed to the Blaze.
