Carroll named HCAC Player of Week
BLUFFTON, Ohio - Bluffton University senior Dante Carroll (Gahanna/Lincoln) has been named the Heartland Conference Offensive Player of the Week following Bluffton's win at Trine on Saturday night. He is the first Bluffton running back since Ben Dodds in 2005 to earn Player of the Week honors in the HCAC!
Carroll led the way on the ground, piling up 26 rushes for a career-best 186 yards while crossing the pylons twice, including a 54-yarder that put Bluffton on top for good. A last-second hail mary by the Thunder was unsuccessful as the Beavers marched to a 37-31 win and 2-0 start to the season. It is the first time that Bluffton has defeated Trine and it is the first 2-0 start for the Beavers since 2004!
Bluffton will host Mount St. Joseph on Saturday, Sept. 17 at 1:30 as they enter Heartland Conference play with hopes of extending their winning streak. Come out and support your Beavers!
