Lima Symphony field trip, Red Ribbon Week, book fair week, just for starters

All kind of learning experiences in October at Bluffton elementary

A field trip to the Lima Symphony, Red Ribbon Week, book fair and a trip to Kewpee are event on the Bluffton elementary school calendar in October.

Here's details on those events and additional October activities from the Bluffton school website. The October elementary newsletter, which also lists November events, is an attachment.

ELEMENTARY BOOK FAIR: Book Fair begins Monday, Oct. 24.  Daily hours will be 8 a.m. until  p.m. Monday-Thursday and 8 a.m. until p.m. on Friday.  Family Night are Tuesday, Oct. 25 from 6 until 8 p.m.

RED RIBBON WEEK:  Red Ribbon Week (Oct. 24-28) is the oldest and largest drug prevention program in the nation. Bluffton elementary events include:  Monday-Sun Glasses Day
Tuesday-Crazy Sock Day
Wednesday-Crazy Hair Day
Thursday-Black Out Day
Friday-Red Out Day

TWO-HOUR DELAY:  Bluffton Exempted Village Schools will have a two-hour delay on Wednesday, Oct.  26.  Teachers and administrators will be receiving over 17 hours of training this school year to prepare for the state adopted curriculum

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED:  Reading tutors are needed at all elementary grade levels.  If you are interested,  contact Beth Ackerman at 419-358-7951.

Wednesday, Oct. 26  - 2-hour delay - Teacher professional development inservice
