Bluffton receives one of 35 bike racks in county

Result of Creating Healthy Communities Program grant

There a bike rack on the Bluffton school grounds thanks to a Creating Healthy Communities Program grant.

Bluffton's bike rack is one of 35 installed this fall in Allen County as a result of the grant.

The Creating Healthy Communities (CHC) Program of Allen County Public Health has been working to make Lima and Allen County more bike friendly.

The bicycle racks were placed at businesses and community organizations that requested them to help increase bike traffic to and from their facility. Bike racks are an integral piece of building a comprehensive, sustainable bicycle infrastructure.

The grant has placed 35 bike racks in the county. Of those, 14 are in Llima, three in Delphos, two in Spencerville, two in Elida and Bluffton's rack.

According to Shelly Miller, Allen County Public Health educator, "If you are interested in a bike rack at your business ororganization, or have suggestions of where one is needed, contact me at 419-228-4457 or email [email protected]
