St. John's UCC choir presents cantata Dec. 18

4 p.m. Christmas eve service includes communion

St. John’s United Church of Christ announces its Christmas celebrations.

To begin the celebration of Christmas, the chancel choir of St. John’s United Church of Christ will present the cantata, “Morning Star,” composed by Lloyd Larson.

The performance will be held on Sunday, Dec. 18, at 10:30 a.m. The choir is under the direction of Dr. Crystal Sellers-Battle. St. John’s United Church of Christ is located at the corner of Jackson Street and College Avenue in Bluffton.

To continue the celebration, St. John’s UCC will host a candlelight Christmas Eve service of carol singing, reading of the Christmas story and Holy Communion.  The service takes place on Saturday, Dec. 24 at 4 p.m., and is open to everyone.

On Sunday, Dec. 25, a Christmas Day worship service will be held at 10:30 a.m.  The Rev. Don Rock will deliver the message titled “Christmas Memories.”  Worshipers are invited to join us in celebrating this most joyous holiday.

Child care is available for all three services.
