Testing, one, two, three
That light in the tunnel - the end of the school year - gets brighter in April. Even so, there's still lots of activities planned this school year. Here is information from the elementary April newsletter.
TESTING DAYS: Third, fourth and fifth grade students will take Ohio Math tests on April 20 and 21. Fourth grade students will take Ohio Social Studies tests on April 27 and 28. Fifth grade students will take Ohio Science tests on April 27 and 28.
BOOK FAIR WEEK OF APRIL 24: The annual elementary spring Book Fair will be held April 24–28. The Book Fair will be open daily from 8:00 a.m. until 3 p.m. This Book Fair is a Buy One/Get One Free (BOGO). Tuesday evening (6-8 p.m.) will be family night. The Book Fair will close at 2 p.m. on Friday.
CHILDREN’S BOOK CREATORS COMING MAY 9: Jeanette and Christopher Canyon will be visiting the school on May 9 with four assemblies. We are having a book sale the week of May 1 and will last only that week. An order form will be sent home the last week in April. Parents can request personalized autographed books. We are selling books at our cost (not for any profit). For additional information on the Canyons, please see attached papers.
MEMORY BOOKS: We have a few Memory Books ($20-softcover only) for this school year. Please contact the elementary office if you are interested.
KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION: Any child who will be 5 by Aug. 1, 2017, is eligible to enroll. Please contact the elementary office or stop in to pick up a kindergarten enrollment packet. All children are required to have their immunizations before starting school. The Allen County Health Department provides immunizations but appointments must be made. Their website is: allencountyhealthdepartment.org.
P.T.O NEWS: Teacher appreciation week is coming up in May. Look for more updates in the May Newsletter.
The PTO has made several purchases throughout the school year such as: AR Book Club incentive tags, basketballs for after school programs, xylophone for music, K’Nex kits for 5th grade science classes, Canyon book sets for classrooms, partial payment for 5th grade Lightning Thief production, and a new paper cutter for the teachers’ work room.
Book Fair will be here April 24-28 and we need volunteers to help out. We appreciate all of your help. Please contact Denise Rex through email [email protected] or by phone 419-306-0387.
We’re always looking for new members for the 2017-2018 school year. Please contact Crystal Camper @ 419-235-7572 or e-mail [email protected] if you want to join.
