November 27, 2017

BLUFFTON, Ohio - Senior Kaycee Rowe (Harrod/Allen East) has been named the Heartland Conference Player of the Week after leading the Beavers to a pair of non-conference wins sandwiched around Thanksgiving. It marks the second straight HCAC Player of the Week to open the season for Bluffton following Macey Sheerer (Bucyrus) who took home that honor after leading the Beavers to a win over #7 Ohio Northern last week!

Rowe bucketed 23.0 PPG and ripped down 9.0 RPG as the Beavers went 2-0 on the week with wins over Heidelberg and Kalamazoo. The senior hit 20-of-32 from the field for 62.5 percent with 5-of-6 shooting at the stripe. Rowe finished the week with seven assists, six steals and two blocks.

The versatile wing had her 6th career double-double against Heidelberg and followed that up with her 7th career 20-point game, a 25-point effort on 11-of-16 shooting, against Kalamazoo on Saturday. She is currently 17th on the all-time scoring list with 847 career points and is also closing in on 500 rebounds (432) as a Beaver

The Bluffton University women's basketball team (3-1, 0-0 HCAC) will host HCAC-favorite Transylvania on Saturday at 2 p.m. in the first game of a women's and men's home doubleheader.
