Baseball: Paulding overpowers Pirates

(PAULDING) - Bluffton struck first but Paulding was able to pull away for an 11-1 victory in five innings Thursday afternoon.  Brady Romick scored in the top of the first inning giving Bluffton a 1-0 lead but Paulding responded with three runs in the bottom of the frame. 

Dakota Bricker led Bluffton with a 2/2 effort at the plate.  Kaden Reneker, Romick, Brice Rayle and Malachi Pahl all picked up hits for the Pirates. 

Aaron Belcher surrendered four runs in 1.2 innings pitched.  Rayle came on in relief and Reneker worked the fourth inning for Bluffton.  

Bluffton is now 2-5 on the year and Paulding is 3-5.
