Bluffton man sentenced on two counts of rape
Bluffton police report that on Aug. 24, Jonathon Lamb, 37, Bluffton, was sentenced to 18 years in prison during a sentencing hearing in the Hancock County Common Pleas Court.
Mr. Lamb plead guilty to two charges of rape in June of 2018 and a pre-sentence investigation followed. Mr. Lamb was sentenced to nine years on each count and those sentences will be served consecutively.
The guilty plea and subsequent sentence stem from a complaint that was filed with the Bluffton Police Department in May of 2017, in which officers received a report of a possible sexual assault involving a child.
During the investigation, officers learned that the incident(s) happened in February of 2017 and Jonathan Lamb was subsequently arrested and charged with one count of first degree felony rape with a specification due to the age of the child.
During the court proceedings on June 26, 2018, Jonathon Lamb plead guilty to the original charge of rape, and also to a bill of information alleging a second charge of rape.
As part of the plea deal, Mr. Lamb plead guilty to the two counts of rape and the specification was dropped.
