Bluffton University’s junior nutrition students will host the 2019 Lunch and Learn series from Feb. 13 to April 17 on the first floor of Berky Hall. The demonstrations are free and open to the public; however, just 15 seats are available for each lunch. Reserve a spot by contacting Jeanna Haggard at 419-233-1334 or [email protected]
The focus this year is to share the health benefits of food pigments. Dr. Angela Montel, professor of biology, recently completed sabbatical research on the topic and shared her expertise with the nutrition students. During each session, students will present about a different pigment and provide consumer-friendly recipes that feature foods high in the pigment.
Each session includes a 20-30 minute cooking demonstration, nutritional information and a full meal. Lunches will be held from noon-1 p.m. The 2019 series is sponsored by The Food Store, a whole foods market in downtown Bluffton.
