Several arrests made by Bluffton police in April

Grove resident arrested for weapons violation

Here is the April Bluffton police department docket.

April 2
Officers responded to the Buckeye Park in reference to damaged property.

Officers responded to the 700 block of North Main Street in reference to a breaking and entering complaint.

Officers received a bad check / fraud complaint from a South Main Street business.

April 3
Officers took a report of lost medication.

April 5
Officers arrested a Bluffton resident on an outstanding warrant(s) out of the Lima Police Department.

April 6
Officers arrested a Bluffton resident for having physical control of a motor vehicle after she and her passenger were found asleep behind the wheel with the vehicle running in the 100 block of North Lawn Avenue. The case is pending in Lima Municipal Court.

Officers arrested a Columbus Grove resident for OVI and a weapons violation following a traffic stop in the area of Jefferson Street near Huber Street for a moving violation. The case is pending in Lima Municipal Court.

April 7
Officers arrested a Bluffton resident for felony drug possession and multiple other criminal offenses following a traffic stop on Cherry Street. The case was bound over to Grand Jury in Allen County Common Pleas Court.

April 10
Officers arrested a Lima resident on an outstanding warrant out of the Allen County Sheriff’s Office.

April 11
A College Avenue resident reported a fraud complaint to police.

Officer responded to the area of College Avenue near Spring Street for a report of damaged property.

Following a traffic stop in the area of State Route 103 and Interstate 75, officers arrested a Forest resident on an outstanding warrant out of the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office.

Investigating officers requested canine assistance to perform an exterior, open air sniff around the vehicle. A positive alert and final indication resulted in the vehicle being search. Officers located drug abuse instruments inside the vehicle and the Forest resident was also charged with possession of drug abuse instruments.

During the same traffic stop, it was also determined the driver of the vehicle, a Findlay resident, also had outstanding warrants out of the Findlay Police Department. She was subsequently taken into custody and both parties were transported to the Hancock County Justice Center.

April 12
Officers responded to a noninjury hit/skip traffic crash in the area of College Avenue and Spring Street.

Officers responded to a noninjury traffic crash in the 500 block of State Route 103. A Sidney resident was issued a citation for failure to yield the right of way.

April 13
Officers responded to a residence in the 400 block of County Line Road for a breaking and entering / theft report.

April 19
Officers contacted a vehicle sitting occupied behind a closed business after hours. Upon making contact with the occupants inside, officers could smell the odor of marijuana coming from within the vehicle. Subsequently, a Bluffton juvenile was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia and the cases are pending in Allen County Juvenile Court.

April 20
Officers responded to the intersection of County Line Road and State Route 103 for a noninjury traffic crash. A Bluffton resident was issued a citation for failure to yield the right of way.

April 22
Officer arrested a Bluffton juvenile for possession of marijuana and paraphernalia following a traffic stop in the area of North Main Street and County Line Road. The cases are pending in Allen County Juvenile Court.

April 24
Officers arrested a Dunkirk resident for driving under suspension following a traffic stop in the 800 block of County Line Road for a speeding violation. The case is pending in Lima Municipal Court.
