Bluffton boys whip Lancers; Schriner scores 4

Pirates took 25 shots, 17 of which were on goal

BLUFFTON - The host Bluffton boys soccer team shut out Lincolnview 9-0 in a Northwest Conference mismatch Tuesday evening.

With their fifth straight victory, the Pirates improved to 7-1 overall and 3-0 in the NWC. The Lancers fell to 1-6 and 0-3 in the NWC with the defeat.

Bluffton's Jonathan Schriner four goals in the first half, with three coming in the initial 10 minutes. He started the scoring in the seventh minute, then scored in the eighth minute, 10th minute and 36th minutes.

Tayton Klemen also found the net in the 10th minute to make it 4-0. Klemen added a second goal in the 30th minute.

Simon Derstine tallied in the 28th minute as the Pirates built a commanding 7-0 lead at intermission.

Jude Spallinger added a goal in the 62nd minute, and Andrew Lovett closed the scoring five minutes later.

Bluffton took 25 shots, 17 of which were on goal. Both of Lincolnview's shots were on goal.

Lincolnview was credited with eight goalie saves, while Bluffton made two stops.

The Pirates host non-league foe Archbold Thursday, Sept. 12.
