Lady Pirate netters beat Streaks

Sophomore Ellison Pugsley completed a 3-0 singles sweep

ARCHBOLD - The Bluffton girls tennis team went on the road Saturday and defeated Archbold 4-1.

The Lady Pirate netters improved to 9-6 with the victory over the Blue Streaks.

Senior Erin Hotmire posted a double bagel 6-0, 6-0 win at first singles to improve to 14-3 this season.

Pirate junior Olivia Barnes also won in straight sets at second singles by a 6-3, 6-2 score.

Sophomore Ellison Pugsley completed a 3-0 singles sweep with a comeback 1-6, 6-1, 6-4 victory at third singles.

Sophomores Libby Frazier and Ellie Nickel also won a tight second doubles match in two tiebreakers 7-6 (7-4), 7-6 (7-4).

Bluffton plays at St. Marys Monday, September 23.
