Pirate golfers 2nd in Aug. 10 NWC quad

The Bluffton High School boys golf team competed well in a four-team Northwest Conference match Thursday afternoon, August 10, at the Bluffton Golf Course.

Crestview won the event with a total of 181 strokes, followed closely by Bluffton at 188. Columbus Grove totaled 198 shots, and Ada tallied 221.

Pirate Evan Speicher was match medalist with a score of 39. 

Bluffton improved to 6-1 overall and 4-1 in the NWC after the match.

Ethan Fifer came in second for Bluffton by posting a round of 48. Nick Lovett shot 50, while Grady Coonfare carded a 51 to round out the Pirate  scoring.

Nate Rayle registered a 53, and Preston Laytart added a 55.

Ada is now 0-8 (0-5 NWC) this season, while victorious Crestview is 3-0 (2-0 NWC), Grove is 2-4 (1-2 NWC).
