Activities for kids, including appearance of Santa Claus

The Pandora United Methodist Church will be hosting a free Community Meal on Wednesday, Dec. 11 from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the church fellowship hall. The church is located at 108 E. Washington Street, Pandora.
Santa Claus will be attending, and crafts, cookie decorating, and coloring pages will be available.
The meal is provided by Riley Creek Pharmacy. The menu will be sloppy joe or shredded chicken sandwiches, cheesy potatoes, green beans, applesauce, cookie, hot chocolate and beverages.
The Pandora United Methodist Church choir will be presenting their Christmas cantata, “Shout the Good News!” on Sunday, Dec. 8, at 9:30 a.m. during the worship service, at 108 E. Washington St. (St. Rt. 12), Pandora.
Refreshments will be available in the fellowship hall afterward the service.
The cantata was written by written by Lloyd Larson. The choir is directed by Pat Basinger and accompanied by Pat Michel. The Rev. Duane Kemerley is the pastor.
Two free meals, open to the public, are set at the Bluffton Senior Citizens Center in December.
The meals are at 6 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 5, hosted by First Mennonite Church, and at 6 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 12, hosted by St. John's United Church of Christ.
The center is located at 132 N. Main St., Bluffton. All ages are welcome (and children usually get served first).

Bluffton First Mennonite Church will hold a Red Cross blood drive Thursday, Dec. 5, from 1-6 p.m. in the fellowship hall.
Walk-ins are welcome, but donors are encouraged to schedule an appointment in advance at https://www.redcrossblood.org/.
Soup, sandwiches, cookies, and beverages are available to all donors.
First Mennonite is located at 101 S. Jackson St., Bluffton. Enter by the double doors directly across from Bluffton Middle School. The event is on the second floor, which is handicap accessible at this entrance.
Riley Creek United Methodist Church invites the community to its 47th annual Christmas Carol Sing on Sunday, Dec. 1, at 7:30 p.m.
Like an old-fashioned songfest around the piano, the program will feature congregational singing of many traditional carols, as well as readings from Scripture about Jesus’ birth, special performances by the Pandora United Methodist Church Choir, Ottawa Saints Peter and Paul Choir, other musicians, and a candle lighting ceremony.
