Registration underway now for 2014-15 Bluffton Community Preschool

Bluffton Community Preschool is now accepting enrollment for the 2014-15 program year, according to Shelly Matijevich, director. Classes are for preschool youth ages 3 to 5. Classes are held in First United Methodist Church, 116 Church St., Bluffton. 

Several helpful attachments, including a preschool brochure, are printer-friendly attachments at the bottom of this story.

"Bark for Life" dog event Saturday AM June 21

It's a "Bark for Life." Your dog can now get in to the act at Bluffton's Relay for Life on Saturday morning, June 21.

The event is at the Bluffton University football field, Augsburger Road entrance. Here's how it works, according to Lynda Best:

Dog registrations take place from 7 to 8 a.m. For a fee of $10 anyone may walk a dog on the track from 7:30 to 9 a.m.

"The bark for life is a noncompetitive walk event for dogs and their owners to raise funds and awareness for the American Cancer Society," said Best.

The Dough Hook, 117 S. Main St., Bluffton, has the following special offers now through May 28, according to Marlena Ballinger, owner.

Dumpsters at Spring Street recycle center until June 2

The dumpsters at the Spring Street recycle center are ready for Bluffton's two week spring clean up.

Residents of the village have from Friday through Monday, June 2, to place unwanted items in the dumpsters. No tires, paint or hazardous material please!

Ascension Day service at Trinity Lutheran May 29

An Ascension Day service will be held at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 301 N. Main St., Jenera, on Thursday, May 29 at 7 p.m..  Pastor Al Schmitzer will speak on Jesus, our ascended  Savior’s continuing rule as Prophet, Priest and King.  Everyone is welcome and the church is handicapped accessible.  More information is at:  tlcjenera.org
