BCE "Rent an Expert" helps business owners

The Bluffton Center for Entrepreneurs (BCE) is offering assistance to business owners through the "Rent an Expert" program with the goal of retaining and creating jobs in Bluffton and northwest Ohio.

Hospital construction update

As the Bluffton Hospital construction continues, The Bluffton Icon will update viewers each week on the construction plans. According to the hospital, here are the construction plans for the week of June 6:

o Continuing to tear down the old garage facing Harmon Road

o The back row of parking spaces in the Harmon Road ER lot will not be available due to recycling dumpsters needed for building products

CNB offers online tool that calculates FDIC insurance coverage

BHS boys' June 14-17 bball camp registration underway

Bluffton Pirate boys' basketball camp, involving skills, competitions and lots of fun is set for June, according to Todd Boblitt, BHS varsity coach.

The camp is Monday to Thursday, June 14-17. Boys entering grades 3 to 6 have camp from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Boys entering grades 7 and 8 have camp from noon to 2:30 p.m.

Camp cost is $25 and each participant will receive a basketball and t-shirt. Persons may mail checks or cash to 310 W. Riley St. Bluffton, OH 45817,

May showers brought May flowers

Over 8 inches of rain graced Bluffton's lawns and gardens in May. Specifically 8.12 inches fell according to Guy Verhoff, Pandora weather observer. That compares to May's normal rainfall of 3.67 inches. Here's some addition weather facts for May: This year's May average daily temperature was 63.4 degrees. May's normal average temperature is 60.2 degrees.
