APRIL 27 MEDIA RELEASE__On April 27, 2026, at approximately 7:13 P.M., the Lima Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol responded to a report of a commercial semi-truck on I-75, driving down an embankment and overturning, in Bath Township, Allen County.
Almazbek Omurzakov, age 50, from Greenville, South Carolina, was southbound on I-75 driving a 2020 Volvo semi. Mr. Omurzakov drove off the right side of the roadway, through a guardrail, and overturned down an embankment. Mr. Omurzakov was wearing his safety belt and was not injured in the crash.
Unfortunately, Allen County has recently seen an increase in scam activity targeting members of our community. It is extremely important for residents to understand that any request for payment in Bitcoin, gift cards, or other unconventional forms of payment is a scam. Please do not fall victim to these schemes.
MEDIA RELEASE UPDATE__(Original release December 18, 2026) Death Investigation.
On November 24, 2025, Paula Dirmeyer came to the Ada Police Department to report that she had been assaulted within the Village of Ada by a known individual. Officers gathered information from her and began an investigation.
On November 27, officers were notified by the Allen County Sheriff’s Office that Paula had been found deceased in her rural Allen County home; her body was transported to Lucas County for a post-mortem exam.
MEDIA RELEASE__The Findlay Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a two-vehicle fatal crash that occurred on April 19, 2026, at approximately 2:59 A.M. on Interstate 75 near milepost 145 in Union Township.

A Bluffton man has been sentenced to five years of community control in the domestic violence case State of Ohio vs. Kyle A. Moser. The Lima News reported on the April 7 sentencing in the Allen County Common Pleas Court of Judge Terri Kohlrieser.
