Volleyball: BHS over Ayersville in 4 sets

BLUFFTON - The host Bluffton volleyball team pulled out a four-set victory over Defiance Ayersville Thursday night. 

Bluffton improved to 3-2 with the 25-20, 20-25, 25-15, 25-22 win that snapped a two-match losing skid. Ayersville dropped to 1-4 with the defeat.

Juniors Taylor Schwab (18 kills) and Kylie Stackhouse (16) paced the Pirate girls with 34 combined kills. Schwab also came up with 16 digs and one block. Meanwhile, Stackhouse contributed 13 digs, three blocks and two aces.

Tennis: O-G stops Bluffton 4-1

BLUFFTON - The host Bluffton volleyball team lost a close four-set match to Shawnee in their home opener Tuesday night. 

Bluffton fell to 2-2 with their second tough loss to a WBL team in as many nights. Shawnee improved to 3-0 with the 25-20, 19-25, 25-19, 27-25 victory.

Juniors Taylor Schwab and Kylie Stackhouse led the Pirate girls with 16 kills apiece. Schwab added eight digs and two aces with a block, while Stackhouse contributed a block.

Can you imagine watching a Bluffton High School sports game live from your home?

While some Pirate sports fans may not be able to attend games in person this fall, because of rulings limiting crowd size, there’s Plan B.

Here it is, and it’s almost like being in the stadium.

Pirates win both doubles matches

FOSTORIA - The Bluffton girls tennis team lost a close 3-2 match at Fostoria Monday evening.

The Lady Pirates won the two doubles matches, but dropped all three singles bouts to fall to 2-5 this season.

Juniors Libby Frazier and Ellie Nickel won at first doubles by a 7-5, 6-2 score. Freshmen Caitlyn Couch and Brooke Camper combined to win at second doubles 6-4, 6-1.

Pirate boys crush Bearcats in league lidlifter 10-0

BLUFFTON - The host Bluffton boys soccer team stomped Spencerville 10-0 in the Northwest Conference opener Monday night. 

The Pirates improved to 3-0 overall and 1-0 in the NWC with the shutout victory. The Bearcats fell to 1-1 and 0-1 in the league with the lopsided loss.

Senior Jonathan Schriner tallied three goals and dished out an assist to pace the Pirate attack. He scored in the eighth, 29th and 39th minutes.
