Where coaches children interview athletes

The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) continues its new series, Heartland Kids Corner, featuring student athletes interviewed by the children of their coaches.

Episode two features Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology head men’s basketball coach Rusty Loyd’s daughter Maren. The Fightin’ Engineers in the hot season include Max Chaplin, Tim Harris and Samvit Ram.

Daniel White in U of Findlay production

Daniel White of Bluffton recently participated in the University of Findlay's theatre production of "The End of the World Improv Showcase." UF students participated as cast members and/or as members of the production crew.

White was a cast member of SIX Feet Apart.

Directed by comedian and alumna Sam Woodman '10, the live-streamed show featured 12 masked students and explored a variety of improvisational comedy forms, audience engagement, and spontaneous creativity.

Skyler Scoles passed out 43 assists, 16 digs • Kylie Monday led Bluffton with 19 digs • Olivia Siferd added 2 blocks

LIMA - The visiting Bluffton girls volleyball team lost a five-set heartbreaker to non-conference rival Lima Central Catholic Tuesday night.

Bluffton's record dropped to 12-8 overall with the 25-19, 22-25, 25-16, 20-25, 15-8 defeat.

LCC improved to 10-7 with the hard-fought victory.
 
Kylie Stackhouse drilled 29 kills and came up with three blocks to pace the Lady Pirates. Well-rounded Taylor Schwab amassed a dozen kills and 21 digs to go along with a pair of aces.

BCE Zoom discussion on small business websites Thursday

Leaf pick up begins week of Oct. 26

Leaf pick up in Bluffton will begin in full force the week of Oct. 26, according to Jesse Blackburn, village administrator.

He said that the village service department could make some leaf pick up rounds prior to that depending upon their schedule.

Leaves are to be placed in long, narrow rows at the curb edge of the tree lawn.
