Eileen June Stauber, 93, died Nov. 27, 2018, at Lima Memorial Health System.  Eileen was born Oct. 9, 1925, in Oak Harbor, Ohio to the late Norman and Helen (Rust) Genzman. On Aug. 22, 1947, she married Eugene Stauber who preceded her in death on Sept. 1, 1985.

Eileen was a graduate of Toledo Waite High School and Toledo Hospital School of Nursing.  She had been a registered nurse at numerous hospitals in the United States and Canada.  Eileen grew up attending the Star United Church of Christ in Toledo.

Over the last year, we have actively engaged our community through programs and member services. My team and I are committed to continuous improvement in how we impact youth and families.

This year Bluffton Family Recreation is excited to be participating in #Giving Tuesday on November 27th in conjunction with Mercy Health. All donations that Bluffton Family Recreation receives by year end will be doubled up to $5,000 by Mercy Health. We are blessed to have this partnership and need your help in reaching our goal of $5,000 by year end.

Bluffton University will host the Holiday Collage Concert at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 2, in Yoder Recital Hall followed by a new Christmas tradition at the Houshower House.

Become wrapped in the sounds of the season when Bluffton’s Jazz Ensemble, Concert Band, University Chorale and Camerata Singers come together to celebrate Christmas.

Dec. 1 at Apollo Career Center

Apollo Career Center Christmas at Apollo Craft show will be held Saturday, Dec. 1, 2018, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. One of the largest craft shows in the region, Apollo will host well over 100 vendors featuring unique handcrafted items. Admission is $3 and children 12 and under are free. There is food available for breakfast and lunch.

The craft show is a school-wide activity that provides the students community involvement, and raises money for all five student organizations. to assist with community service projects and competitions. 

Grew up in Bluffton, authored book on Native American code talkers

Margaret T. Bixler, 101, died at home in Woodbridge, Connecticut, on Nov. 24, 2018. She was predeceased by her husband of 69 years, Roland M. Bixler.

Margaret was born in Bluffton, Ohio, to Ray L. and Etta (Lantz) Triplett. She was also predeceased by her brothers, Morris Triplett and Ropp Triplett, and her sister Barbara Jean Triplett Van Dyke. Margaret attended Bluffton University and held a BA from the University of Michigan.

Santa will be there. So will the Grinch. There will also be live reindeer, a live nativity and choir and lots more.

Merry on Main launches Ada's holiday season celebration. The 6th annual event is from 5 to 7:30 p.m., Monday, Dec. 3, in downtown Ada. The event is sponsored by Ada Area Chamber of Commerce.
