Warning - Don't bowl against this team. They'll whip you. Eight teams, each sponsored by a Blufftton Area Chamber of Commerce business, bowled at Southgate Lanes on Sept. 28 in a Main Street banner fundraiser.

The winning team, sponsored by Boehr Site Seeker, took home a traveling trophy and more. One of the Southgate Lanes leagues will carry Boehr Site Seeker's name this season.

It was a day to visit the past...to have lots of fun, run a 5K, stop at a Home Expo, paint a pumpkin, watch a drama, visit a quilt show, do some shopping downtown, buy a pumpkin pie at auction, and get your face painted.

It was Bluffton's 10th annual Fall Festival. Events took place at Maple Crest, Mennonite Memorial Home, BFR Sports and Fitness, Bluffton Hospital, Bluffton Elementary, Bluffton Farmers' Market, First Mennonite Church and downtown Bluffton.

Richard E. Schwab, 74 died at his residence on Sept. 27, 2013.  He was born Oct. 17, 1938 in Ottawa, Ohio, to the late Leonard W. and Frances G. (Conine) Schwab. On Nov. 19, 1960 he married Mary Powell Schwab and she survives.

He retired from Lima Ford Engine Plant in 1991 after 34 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran.
