Tickets are now on sale for the Saturday, Sept. 28, Awaken Fest’ to be held in at the Hancock County Fairgrounds, 1017 E. Sandusky St., Findlay.

Awaken Festival is an event filled with the biggest names in Christian music, merchandise booths, food vendors and family friendly activities.

The Fest’ enlists the help of over 100 volunteers, secure in-kind donations, and rely on the generosity of supporters like you to make Awaken Fest affordable for as many people as possible.


Bluffton Icon:

On Friday afternoon, June 14th 2013 the Bluffton Lions Club put on the 46th Festival of Wheels and Cruise-in. We strive to make it a better show each year.

Raymond E. Nesler, 88 died July 20, 2013, at Ohio Veteran's Home, Sandusky.  He was born Aug. 4, 1924, in Hancock County to the late Clarence and Verna (Longbrake) Nesler. 

On Aug. 14, 1949, he married Mary Ellen Boehm and she survives. Raymond was a retired farmer and had also been a gasoline distributor.  He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Jenera.  He enjoyed working with draft horses and refinishing furniture.  He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving in World War II where he received a Purple Heart.

With one-half of the swimming season behind us Bluffton council will act on a recommendation to sell season passes at a 50 percent reduction, according to Jamie Mehaffie, village administrator.

Council will meet on Monday to consider the action. Should the recommendation pass half-price tickets will go on sale July 23. Council offers these half-price passes at the mid-point of each swim season.

Communty Vacation Bible School offers a new twist on the Psalm, "Let everything that breaths praise the Lord." One of the games at VBS on Sunday night was a "breath" contest. Students blew into a straw to push a cup around a table, racing with another team. Nathan Meyer works his magic in this photo. VBS takes place at First Mennonite this week.
