The deadline is just a few days away for area teachers to apply for a McDonald's MAC Grant. Teachers wanting to apply for the MAC Grant must have their applications postmarked or submitted electronically by July 31. Mennonite Home Communities of Ohio (MHCO), a continuing care retirement community in Bluffton, is hosting a Job Fair for the positions of Shahbaz (Caregiver/STNA) and Nurse in the new Green House homes, which will open in October or November of this year.
The Job Fair will be held at First Mennonite Church, 101 S. Jackson St., Bluffton, on Thursday, Aug. 2. Interested persons may arrive anytime between 12:30-4 p.m. and should allow 90 minutes for the process.
Lifeline will present a concert of sacred music at Riley Creek Baptist Church, rural Bluffton, at 6 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 5.
Lifeline is the music ministry of Amy Wright and Bill Hartman. Their music is described as powerful, dynamic and ministers to the heart and soul of their audiences.

Bluffton fire, EMS and police responded to a fire call at 9585 N. Dixie Highway Monday morning. Apparently a fire started by a candle was extinguished by the residents by the time the department arrived.

-Officers took a theft report from a Hancock County resident.
-Officers responded to a Citizens Pkwy. business in regards to unknown persons stealing items that were on an outdoor display.

-Officers assisted in the investigation of a fire at a manufacturing plant on Jefferson St.

Lima-built steam locomotive Nickel Plate 765 is on the move in Ohio and Indiana this summer. After a weekend excursion on the old Nickel Plate mainline several other opportunities exist to view this famous locomotive that once made frequent trips through Bluffton.
