The residents of Richland Manor recently enjoyed a Hawaiian feast on Aug. 3. This luau-themed dinner was planned specially for the campus residents and featured a menu, which contained cuisine similar to what you might expect to find at an authentic Hawaiian luau or pig roast.
The menu included: Kahlua pork or Hawaiian grilled chicken, pinepple fried rice, Hawaiian cole slaw. For dessert was coconut cream pie or pineapple pound cake.
Beverages were choice of aoda, druit juice, iced tea, or non-alcoholic pina colada.
Tickets are now on sale for Bluffton University's 2012-13 Artist Series. The first program is Aug. 30, when The Alley Cats perform.

Dr. Allison Westcott has joined the Blanchard Valley Hospital Women and Children's Center. Dr. Westcott provides obstetrics and gynecology care and is accepting new patients.
Dr. Westcott received her medical degree from The University of Toledo and completed an OB/GYN residency at Palmetto Health Richland in Columbia, South Carolina. She joins Dr. Miguel Jordan, Dr. George Abate and Certified Nurse Practitioner Teresa Jones in the practice.
Bridge Bereavement Services will offer a workshop for understanding grief on Monday, Aug. 20, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Putnam County Library, 136 Putnam Parkway, Ottawa. The event is for individuals 18 years of age and older and is open to the public.
This three-hour workshop will help participants learn more about the grief process including how to identify essential physical, emotional, cognitive, social and spiritual actions that will aid in healing.

In 1961, Bluffton celebrated its centennial. A program in Founders Hall during the celebration included a pageant, which included reenactments of several Bluffton historical events.
