Richland Manor goes "Hawaiian" - Wild West coming soon!
The residents of Richland Manor recently enjoyed a Hawaiian feast on Aug. 3. This luau-themed dinner was planned specially for the campus residents and featured a menu, which contained cuisine similar to what you might expect to find at an authentic Hawaiian luau or pig roast.
The menu included: Kahlua pork or Hawaiian grilled chicken, pinepple fried rice, Hawaiian cole slaw. For dessert was coconut cream pie or pineapple pound cake.
Beverages were choice of aoda, druit juice, iced tea, or non-alcoholic pina colada.
Residents were transported to the tropics during the week leading up to the dinner, as the campus featured special programming and activities which tied in to the Hawaiian theme, including: Pictures with a Hawaain background.
"This event proved to be an amazing cultural learning experience for our residents and staff alike," said Sarah Foster, Executive Director of Richland Manor.
"Everything, from the special menu and decorations, to the activities leading up to the event, promoted an environment of fun and excitement for our residents.
"This was one of the many activities we provide to our residents to promote socialization and engagement. We are already looking forward to our Wild West themed-dinner in October."
