The Pirate heavyweight posted a 1-2 record and advanced to day two of the OHSAA tournament before being eliminated.

He ended his season with a fine record of 41-11.

In the first round of the 285 lbs. bracket Friday, Shank met the top seed in his quarter of the 16-man draw. Undefeated Dalton senior Cohen Riggenbach narrowly beat Shank in a tight 2-1 decision to drop the Pirate into the consolation bracket.
