The Bluffton University men's golf team shot a 477 over 27 holes at the Capital Fall Classic on Monday, Oct. 11, 2021. The event at the Blacklick Golf Course scheduled for 36 holes was cut short due to darkness.

Leading the Beavers were a pair of juniors who checked in with scores of 115 on Monday. Clay Quellhorst (St. Marys/Memorial) and Nathan Eberle (Grove City) were a mere seven shots over par for the round and a half at Reynoldsburg. Eberle's score included a sparkling 36 for the nine holes in round two!

On Sunday October 10, the Bluffton boys soccer team was voted the top seed at the 12-team Tiffin Columbian Div. III sectional/district draw.

Bluffton (10-3-1) is the top seed and received a first round bye.

Van Buren (10-2-2) was seeded second, with Mansfield Christian (9-5-1) third.

The Pirates would face the C-R/Ada/Woodmore bracket survivor in the district semifinals Wednesday, Oct. 27 at Tiffin Columbian. 

Bluffton beat Ada 8-2 September 28.

At the Bluffton council meeting of October 11, the Bluffton Police Department honored five officers with service awards ranging from five to thirty years. Officers Troy Hartzog, Officer Charles “Ed” Montgomery, Officer Nathan Jordan, Lt. Matthew Oglesbee, and Corporal Lonny Kent were presented with certificates and plaques commemorating their awards.

The Hilty Family Farm is happy to have sweet corn at the Bluffton Farmers Market in October. The market continues through the end of October at 102 S. Main, Saturdays, 8:30 a.m.-noon.
