January 2010

By Fred Steiner

It's all Greg Ring's fault.

His wife, Mary, prepared the most divine breakfast rolls of 2010 for our family. Greg dropped off this artistic work on his way to church. Ah, now for a good cup of coffee. The day - heck, the week - will be complete with this combination: hot rolls and coffee. The problem is, I can't make a decent cup of coffee. Can't put my finger on the reason. But my coffee rests in the C- grade range. I know this because no one will drink it. Not even my daughters.

Certainly this is one of the longest cryptic license plates that we've ever seen. Any viewer who knows its meaning, please share it with us.

Two community meals are planned in January that are sponsored by the Bluffton Area Ministerial Association. The meals are at 6 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 7, and 6 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 21. The dinners are at the Bluffton Senior Citizens Center and are open to the public.

David and Lenore Reiter were named the Bluffton Senior Citizens Association volunteers of the year, according to Tonya Meyers, director. The announcement was made at the December meeting of the association's members.

David drove the bus for the Golden Swingers Band for many years and Lenore was a band member. Lenore was on the kitchen committee for fundraisers and Dave would assist in the kitchen during these events.
