Bluffton High School 2011 homecoming is Friday night and this year's homecoming court is in place for the weekend. Watch for videos coming.

Bob Minto

Local ceramic artist Bob Minto will hold an opening reception from 7 to 9 p.m., Friday, Sept. 30, at the Findlay Art League, for a one-person show.

The show "altered states in clay," will run from Sept. 30 to Oct. 18. Gallery hours are Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The show will feature Minto's ceramics

The Righteous Brothers' Bill Medley will perform Saturday, Oct. 1 at 8:30 p.m. at the Freed Center for the Performing Arts.

All tickets are $40 and can be ordered at www.freedcenter.com or by calling the box office at 419-772-1900.

Bill Medley is a seminal figure in the history of American music. He is perhaps best known as half of the unmistakable duo, The Righteous Brothers.

First National Bank announces two major appointments this month, one to its board of directors and another as the Pandora branch manager.

Jared L. Lehman of Bluffton was named to the board of directors and Amy J. Searfoss of Miller City as branch manager of the Pandora office.

The Bluffton Schools will hold a district-wide open house on Monday evening, Sept. 26.

The elementary school will be open from 6 - 7 p.m., the middle school from 6:30 - 7:30 p.m., and the high school from 7 - 8 p.m.

Several community organizations will have booths set-up in the elementary gymnasium and information will be available on ways to provide support to the school and community.

The Bluffton University men's soccer team fell 3-0 to Mt. St. Joseph on Saturday, Sept. 24. With the loss, the Beavers are now 0-9 this season with a 0-1 mark in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference. The Lions improved to 1-0 in the HCAC and 3-5 overall.

The Bluffton University football team jumped out to a 10-0 lead before 28 unanswered by the Lions sent Mount St. Joseph to a 28-17 victory over the visitors. Bluffton slipped to 0-4 overall and 0-2 in the Heartland Conference while MSJ stayed perfect at 3-0 overall and 2-0 in the HCAC.

The winner of Week 4 of the Icon College Football Contest is Dan Lee. He accumulated 10 points to win the contest this week.
