Jeff and Sandra Schroll, of Bluffton, announce the engagement of their daughter Kaitlin, to Bradley Barrett, the son of Larry and Sheila Barrett, of Columbus Grove.

The bride-elect is a graduate of Bluffton High School and the University of Northwestern Ohio. She is employed by Citizens National Bank in Bluffton. Her fiance is also a graduate of Bluffton High School. He is employed by Grob Systems in Bluffton.

The couple will exchange vows Oct. 6, 2012, at 3:30 p.m. at First United Methodist Church, in Bluffton.

Bluffton University along with Youngstown State University were named the Teams of the Week by OhioCollegeFootball.com following a pair of big wins over the weekend. It is the first time Bluffton has been recognized as a Team of the Week by OCF.

Lima Central Catholic stopped Bluffton High School girl's soccer team 2-1 on Sept. 24 at Steinmetz Field.

The first 2013 model vehicle in Bluffton belongs to the village. You might call it a police cruiser, but its official name is a Ford Police Utility Interceptor vehicle. Delivery was made this week and the vehicle was officially perused in the dark by Bluffton council members following the Sept. 24 council meeting.

The price tag of $33,411 came down, after trade ins, to $31,111. According to Rick Skilliter, police chief, the cruiser is projected to be 20 percent more fuel efficiet than existing police cruisers on the Bluffton fleet.

Peter Suter of Shannon Theatre announced that "Hotel Transylvania" (PG) and will be shown at the theatre from September 28 - October 4.

Show times are every evening at 7:00 and 9:30 PM with Saturday and Sunday matinees at 1:30 and 4:00 PM. All shows for this feature are in 2D.

Bluffton's next American Red Cross blood drive is from noon to 6 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 11, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 160 N. Spring St.

The Bluffton University cross country teams capped a successful outing at Otterbein when freshman Colin McCloskey (Sylvania/Northview) and senior Alison Janzen (Whitewater, Kan./Remington) were named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Players of the Week for the week ending Sept. 23, 2012.

items accepted include: canned meats, peanut butter, fruits, raviolis and spaghetti o's, spaghetti and other pastas, pasta sauces, soups and specialty items such as crackers and cookies.
