Due to Hurricane Sandy and resulting airport closures on the East Coast, Murli Buluswar is unable to travel to deliver Bluffton University’s annual Presidential Leadership Lecture on Tuesday, Oct. 30.
The lecture by the 1991 Bluffton alumnus will be rescheduled for a date during the spring semester.
The Beavers traveled to Anderson, Ind., on Saturday, Oct. 27, following a bye week and defeated the Ravens, 13-0, in a sloppy game that featured four missed field goals and a missed extra point for the Beavers.

Whatever halftime speech or adjustments Head Coach Dennis Lee made sure seemed to work as the Pirates were down 14-10 at the half.
However, on another rainy Friday night the Pirates completely took the game over against a tough Columbus Grove team playing for their playoff lives, scoring four touchdowns in the final half of the season.
Bluffton led the yardage battle 258-201 as the defense played lights out for the second straight week and the offense had complete control on the ground as the team rushed for 258 yards.

The Bluffton University men’s soccer team fell to rival Defiance College on Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2012, by a final count of 3-0. Bluffton slipped to 2-13 overall and 0-7 in the Heartland Conference, while Defiance improved to 3-14-1 overall and 3-4-1 in the HCAC.
The Defiance College volleyball team could do no wrong, defeating Bluffton University in every statistical category and ultimately winning the match 3-0 (25-21, 25-18, 25-16) on Wednesday, Oct. 24. The Beavers are now 14-13 (4-4 HCAC). The Defiance victory snapped a string of six straight Bluffton wins over the Yellow Jackets.
Over 60 Halloweeners attended Sunday's BFR Halloween party.
Businesses donating prizes included the Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce, Jeannie's Kitchen, Boehr Site Seekers, Applebee's of Lima, Faith Investment Services, the McCarthy Family, the Schutz Family, Webb Insurance and Greg's Pharmacy.

Bluffton Lions are active in several events in the next few weeks.
On Oct. 27 they will be involved in a roadside clean-up. On Nov. 6, Tom Mazzur will discuss the bike path of Allen County during a Lion lunch meeting. Peace Poster winners to present their winning posters at the meeting.
On Nov. 20 Melissa Weaver from Lodestar, will talk about training seeing-eye dogs for children, during the lunch meeting.
