NAPERVILLE, Ill. - The Bluffton University men's basketball team was looking to slay a giant, #1 ranked Wisconsin-Whitewater, when the Beavers traveled to North Central College for game one of the Chicago Marriott Naperville Tip-Off Tournament on Friday, Nov. 21, 2014. The Beavers were within striking distance, down 51-44, with less than five minutes to play before the Warhawks found their stroke, pulling away for a hard-fought 67-46 victory.
Bluffton’s residential holiday lighting contest prize money totals $500 this year. The chamber contributed $350 and First National Bank contributed $150.
Bluffton University’s Camerata Singers and University Chorale, along with a brass ensemble, will headline “A Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols,” the university’s Christmas choral concert, at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 5 in Yoder Recital Hall.
The Friday evening performance will be the only presentation of the full concert. A shortened version will be presented as Bluffton’s weekly forum, at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 2, also in Yoder Recital Hall.
Bluffton University art majors Victoria Watkins of Mansfield, Ohio, and Sarah Gilman of Knoxville, Tenn., will present their senior exhibit, “Pop Fiction,” representing artwork they have created at Bluffton, in the Grace Albrecht Gallery in Sauder Visual Arts Center.
The exhibit will be open to the public from Dec. 1-19; gallery hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays and 1-5 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. An artist reception will be held from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 7.
Registration for the second annual Be A Beaver Triathlon, to be held Saturday, May 30, 2015, will begin on Monday, Dec. 1.

Participants in the third annual Giving Tuesday—a global initiative to encourage charitable giving amid holiday consumerism—can direct their generosity for the first time to Bluffton University on Tuesday, Dec. 2.
