Bluffton Community Preschool is still accepting enrollment for 2014-2015 program year, according to Shelly Matijevich, director.

"Stop anytime during hours of operation to check us out," she said. "We are excited to have your child for this program year or early sign up for 2015-2016 program year. Call us, email or look us up on Face Book-Bluffton Community Preschool."

Children need to be 3 years old on or before Aug. 1.

Bluffton has a calendar full of events taking place this weekend - everything from a visit from Santa, an art gallery opening and a performance of Handel's "Messiah."

Here's the list of events:

Santa Claus

December 5, 2014

Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce member, Richard Gainey of Ada, (aka Santa Claus), has officially been recognized by the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles (BMV).

The BMV recently picked Gainey’s license plate “ST NIK” as its fifth “What’s on Your Plate?” winner.

P.S. - SANTA WILL BE AT GREG'S ON SATURDAY FROM 10 A.M. TO NOON.

Gainey will soon be featured on the BMV’s Web site, Facebook and Twitter pages. He will also receive a decorative license plate with the personalization of his choice.

A pair of Bluffton University seniors will lace up their cleats again on Sunday, Dec. 7 (10 a.m.) when they travel to Miami, Fla., for the 2014 National Bowl at Ocean Bank Field at FIU Stadium.

The National Bowl Game is an annual post-season college football all-star game consisting of top players from non-FBS schools and it precedes the 2 p.m. FCS Bowl.

Standouts Jack Tomlinson (Westerville/South) and Donovan Brown (Cincinnati/Purcell Marian) will continue Bluffton's tradition of wide receivers displaying their talents in post-season senior bowls.

Tommy Tire is sponsoring a free showing of "Night At The Museum; Secret of the Tomb" at 10 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 20 at the Shannon Theatre. All are welcome, but seating is limited so it's first come first serve.  Small popcorn and drink will be provided as well.

Youth Services at the Bluffton Public Library would like to create a Book Nook Igloo for this winter season.

To do so, they need over 150 one-gallon plastic milk jugs, so are asking that community members donate empty gallon milk jugs.

Wash your milk jugs, keep the caps on and drop them at the front desk by Dec. 16.

The Bluffton High School Guidance Office is sponsoring a financial aid meeting for parents and students of juniors and seniors who are planning to continue their education beyond high school. The meeting will be held at the high school library, at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec.17. Lawrence Matthews, director of financial aid at Bluffton University, will be the presenter for the evening.  He will discuss financial aid and filing the FAFSA form.
