The Pandora United Methodist Church Choir will present its Christmas Cantata, “Candles and Carols" written by Mark Hayes on Sunday, Dec. 14 at 9:30 a.m. during the worship service. The church service and refreshments in the fellowship hall afterwards are open to the public. The choir is directed by Pat Basinger and accompanied by Kira Davis. The church is located on state route 12 at 108 E. Washington Street in Pandora. The Rev. Duane Kemerley is the pastor.

The Sunday school classes of First Mennonite Church will hold a Christmas program at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 14. The church is located at 101 S. Jackson St., Bluffton.

Classes of various age groups will contribute to the program with vocal and instrumental performances, stories, as well as congregational singing of seasonal carols.

Refreshments will be available in Fellowship Hall following the program.

All are invited to attend.

It’s December, but the weather outside is not frightful. It’s “fallish,” wouldn’t you agree.

So far this month the high temperature was 43 on Dec. 1 and Dec. 8. The low was 23 on Dec. 1, according to Guy Verhoff, Pandora weather observer.

The children and middle school youth of English Lutheran Church will present a musical "The Christmas Animals," by Genie and Troy Nilsson at 10:15 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 14. (Please note that the normal schedule is reversed for this Sunday only: Sunday School at 9 a.m. and worship and the Christmas musical at 10:15 a.m.)

All are invited to "experience the joy and wonder of the Christmas story told from the unique perspective of the animal kingdom."

Christmas Crafts is the theme of this month's Silly Saturday program at
BFR Sports & Fitness. Children ages 5-8 are invited to create
three craft projects that can be used as gifts this holiday season. Silly
Saturday will be held from 9:30-11:30 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 13; leader
will be Kelly Honse. Cost is $12/$8 BFR members and covers all the

Eleven players scored for Bluffton in a 70-41 romp over Waynesfield-Goshen on Dec. 9. The Pirates move to 3-0 on the season. Bluffton JV defeated Waynesfield 61-24.

As a student at Bowling Green State University, Huber directs the Bikes for Tikes and is on the steering committee of BGSU’s Dance Marathon (DM).

The organization, run by students, raises money for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. The BGSU organization raises funds specifically for Mercy’s Children’s Hospital, Toledo.
