Kathleen M. Konst, 92, died at 10:50 p.m. Dec. 15, 2014, at Willow Ridge, Bluffton. She was born July 1, 1922, in Bluffton to the late Edwin and Clara Freyman Niswander. On June 23, 1950, she married Albert Konst and he preceded her in death on Oct. 5, 2006. 

She was a secretary.  They lived in many states during Albert's career in the Air Force.  Kathleen and Albert enjoyed traveling in their motor home. They traveled to 49 states.  She was graduate of Bluffton High School and attended St. Mary's Catholic Church, Bluffton.

First Mennonite Church invites all to attend their candlelight Christmas Eve service scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 24. The service will include vocal and instrumental music, scripture, candlelighting, and carol singing.

First Mennonite is located at 101 S. Jackson St., Bluffton.

Mennonite Home Communities of Ohio (MHCO), a Bluffton-based senior care provider, is a sponsor of Bluffton University’s Institute for Learning in Retirement (ILR) program this academic year.

MHCO’s $5,000 sponsorship for 2014-15 is the first of its kind for the institute, now in its 23rd year of offering courses to retirees each fall, winter and spring. Members of the program design and lead many of the courses, which informally explore topics of interest just for the sake of learning.

Bluffton University basketball fans who can’t get to the men’s and women’s McDonald’s of Bluffton holiday tournament games Dec. 29 at the Sommer Center can still see the games live.

Bluffton Presbyterian Church, 112 N. Main St., will have a carol-filled night on Christmas Eve.

The 7 p.m. worship service will be a candlelight service of lessons and carols.
