Mary Ann Sullivan, Professor Emerita Bluffton University, will deliver two illustrated lectures on prominent American artists in the new series:
• Jeff Koons will be the subject of the Wednesday, March 16 lecture
• Cindy Sherman will be featured on March 23.
Koons is one of the most controversial artists in the world today; his work, Balloon Dog (Orange) recently sold for $58,400,000, the highest auction price in history for any living artist.
The Grace Chorale and Chamber Singers from Grace University in Omaha, Neb., will be appear in concert at the Yoder Recital Hall on the campus of Bluffton University, at 7 p.m., Monday, March 21.

Pandora United Methodist Church will hold a free community meal on Wednesday, March 30 from 5:30-7 p.m. in the church fellowship hall, 108 E. Washington Street, Pandora. This month's meal is provided by Sprunger Insurance. The menu is spaghetti, garlic bread, salad, dessert, and beverage.
Bluffton Family Recreation is taking registrations for its summer junior high boys’ basketball league.
The league has a division for seventh grade teams and a division for eighth grade teams.
Each team will play back-to-back double headers every week of league play. Seventh grade games are Tuesday evenings from May 21 to June 28. Eighth grade games are Monday evenings from May 30 to June 27.
Tad Steiner is one of many Bluffton school musicians who will perform during the Friday, March 18, Music Booster barbecue and musical performance.
Performances begin at 4:30 p.m. in the middle school gym. Choice of Larson's barbecue or shrimp dinner is available while tickets are available. Dinners are served in the middle school cafetorium beginning at 4:30 p.m.
Tickets are $8 and are available in the middle school office. The meal includes one-half chicken or seven pices of shrimp, potato salad, apple sauce, dinner roll and drink.
Two significant local levies are on the March 15 local ballot:
• Bluffton school income tax renewal levy
• Bluffton Public Library renewal levy
Both deserve every voter’s support.
School levy highlights
Money generated by the school levy is used to replace roofs, buy new busses, remodel classrooms, air condition the elementary, purchase new boilers and update technology, etc. The money is not and cannot be used for salaries or fringe benefits.
Kalin Osting just finished the 2015-2016 hockey season with the Findlay Junior
Trojans. The Junior Trojans went 15-5 in tournament play, winning the Mid-Am
Silver Stick Regional in Dayton, and the McCarthy Cup in Newark.
The team qualified to play in the prestigious Silver Stick finals in Detroit,
where they played teams from Georgian Shores, Ontario, and Sturgeon Lake,Ontario.
Richard D. Benroth, 80, of Bluffton died at 7:42 p.m. March 13, 2016, at his residence. Richard was born July 1, 1935 in Bluffton to the late Emory and Cleona Welty Benroth. On May 5, 1961 he married Jane Alspach and she survives.
Richard retired from Hysan Automotive, Findlay. He was a graduate of Bluffton High School and served in the US Army.
