The Quarry Farm Nature Preserve & Conservation Farm is holding an annual Family Day on Saturday, April 30, from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.
Bring yourself, friends and family for an afternoon open house of fun in the gardens, woods, and wetlands. A representative from Black Swamp Raptor Rehabilitation Center, Pandora, will be onsite with several birds of prey.
Shannon Upton, Christian speaker and author of the Organizing You books, is the guest speaker at County Line Church of the Brethren's Mother's Day banquet, at 6 p.m., Friday, April 29.
Upton helps women clear out their spiritual clutter so they can grow closer to their families and their Lord.

Bluffton's entry won the 2016 Lions Club District peace poster contest. Louisa Dunlap is the poster creator.
Jan Emmert, chair of the Peace Poster Committee, coordinated the contest with Bluffton art teacher, Nicole Anderson. This is the first time a Bluffton participant has won the district award.

Susan Lehman Sommer, 68, of Tremont, Ill., died at 2:56 p.m. Saturday, April 23, 2016, at her home.
She was born July 11, 1947, in Bluffton, Ohio, to Carl M. and Sarah Miller Lehman. She married James T. Sommer on Aug. 18, 1968, in Bluffton; he survives.
Stephan Johnson of Ada will entertain at this year's Bluffton Arts and Crafts Show. Johnson plays the Irish bagpipe. He will be at the show at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 14, and will do a walk-through the show area.
